Abby & Taylor - Humble Hall
↟ Rhome, Texas - Wedding - Humble Hall ↟
How did you two meet?: The year was 2011. The website was tumblr.com... lol while we didn't actually meet online, it definitely played a big part, as well as having some mutual friends. We actually first met in 2010 on a random evening, Taylor was told to go over to a friend's house after work to meet a "cute girl". Low and behold, a young brace faced Abby, sat in the living room, silent the entire evening. But apparently thinking to herself, "I'm going to date them". Fast forward back to 2011 through the many baby animal pictures sent to each other. Abby and I actually started to hang out, we would go to shows together, go camping under the stars, and stayed up so late talking about music, moving to Portland, cooking all the vegan food, DIY projects, and pretty much anything you can think of. We were just two dorky punks who fell in love.
How did you/they propose?: We had talked about getting married for so long but never really did anything about it. It was always "when we moved here" or "when we finished school". It always seemed like something for the next step in our life. However, when we moved to Oregon we ran into issues with some logistics and adult stuff (so fun) and the universe (as well as our insurance company) said it was finally time to get hitched. Taylor then took Abby's grandmother's jade ring off her hand, got down on one knee, and proposed. On a yoga mat. In the middle of Abby's online workout. Abby cried and said yes. In true Taylor and Abby fashion, we made a major life decision 3,000 miles away from all our friends and family.
What is love to you?: That's a loaded question. Love is what you see in the movies, it's Waffle House at 3 am, it's running down the streets of New York in the rain, its kind, it's messy. It's also not like in the movies. It's also slow, everchanging, challenging, it's yours, and doesn't look like anyone else's. Being together for 10 years our love has looked so different over the years. It's been hard at times and so easy at others. Love is communication, pimple popping, hearing the same joke 10 times a day, late night Whataburger runs, adventures, getting a cat, moving where you want, even if you don't know anybody, belly laughs so hard you cramp...love is something that is everchanging and something that can't be summed up in one paragraph.
